On Quilt retreat.

For several years I have been a student at AQC. Now that I have a quilt business I have become a trader at AQC. I miss the interation with student and teachers and the opportunity to extend my skills. A few months ago I happened upon an Ad for the Mount Buller Summer School, which included a 4 day patchwork and quilting retreat. The tutors are Lisa Walton, Nic Bridges and Helen Godden.

After consultation, we booked family accomodation for Jason, Bryson Merryn and myself and Jason’s parents. For4 days Oma and I will learn from some great tutors and have an opportunity for some dedicated sewing days. For 4 days Jason, Opa and the kids will trip about exploring Mount Buller and surrounds. Bryson was super excited to be going up the mountains with Oma and Opa. It is also ok with him that Mum and Oma will be going to school for 4 days. This in itself is a pretty big concession, he thought he was starting school this year!

I am enrolled in classes with Lisa Walton and Helen Godden, unfortunately the timetable didn’t allow for a class with each tutor. I am not 100% comfortable with the idea of Lisa’s class, I am much more comfortable with more structure. I have settled on this as an opportunity to get outside my comfort zone. I tell you in a couple of days whether it worked.
